We offer Champagne De Kleijne Bos Country House on an exclusive-use basis – perfect for a large group of friends or families who want to spend time together – creating timeless memories at a memorable destination.

Situated less than 4km from Paarl, which allows for leisurely outings to nearby award-winning wine farms, restaurants and other popular attractions. 

This stunning historical farm dates back to 1692 when Francois du Toit, a French Huguenot, a protestant Christian and refugee, fleeing religious persecution in Europe, was granted ownership of this property. He eventually became the ancestor to the du Toit family in South Africa.

This property also houses a historical significant building, the ‘Gedenkskool’, established In 1881. This independent school was the first ever Afrikaans language school in South Africa and it operated until 1910.

The Du Toit family owned Kleinbosch until 1950, when it was sold out of the Du Toit family. The Smit family owns and runs this beautiful property now and have many plans to restore some neglected parts of the farm to its former glory and to eventually reestablish a small boutique winery on the farm.
